Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd take somewhat marginal material, and create a wonderfully sensitive story that can be universally viewed and enjoyed. Proving that she's more than 1/6 of a "friend", Aniston whips out her dramatic chops and goes to work. Matching her for dramatic torment, when appropriate, is the charasmatic Rudd. Lending ample support are Alan Alda, Allison Janney and the now, late, Nigel Hawthorne. The viewer cannot help but be captivated by Aniston's Nina, as she struggles with societal pressures and personal desires.Though the story does have a unrealistic wrapped up happy ending, the trip to get there is well worth the time to watch this film.

A very enjoyable, easy-to-watch film. Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston are very appealing together. It stumbles a bit at times, but ultimately is quite life-affirming and rises above the miscues. I especially loved the dance scene with Rudd and Aniston--a touching, quietly exhilarating scene. Recommended for open-minded folks looking for light entertainment.

I always cry on the wedding scene, Jennifer Aniston's tears and breaking voice makes a knot on your throat. All the performances are Great! the photography is beautiful, and the music deserves an A+ GREAT MOVIE! can't wait for its DVD version.

This movie is disappointing, but ... not in terms of production values, acting, etc., which were all excellent. It's that it goes in one direction half way, which is probably apt, as that is probably all that is possible for the main male character with women. Then the movie does a half-gainer and descends in the other direction. The moral, as expounded by a satellite male late in the movie, didn't seem too profound. The delightfully done movie is probably so true to life it's painful, but it left me with the feeling that the main male was selfish, and the "object" was an object lesson: don't play your cards too soon.
