WTF!!
What happened to all the people without the P.O.S. 360? Where's GTA IV for PS2, you know, the console that launched this wonderful series in the first place? C'mon

PS2 did not launch GTA...PC did. GTA 1 was on the PC about 3 years before the PS2 even came out. GTA 2 was even out before the PS2...how about that for props?

Not as big of a map as San Andreas but there is much more to interact with in the city. Graphics and AI are way above what any other game offers. Looks like Rockstar will have even more leverage against the EA takeover bid.

Pros: Top-notch graphics

I LOVE this game!
GTA4 is the most amazing game I ever played! It is a truly professional product with the greatest entertainment value in any game so far.
Unfortunately, as great and amazing the game is, the XBOX 360 is the worst possible platform for it. I have never been so frustrated playing any game ever before! For every hour of playing time, you have at least an hour of staring at the screen âLOADINGâ¦â. As if that wasnât enough, the game forces you to always replay the boring initial parts of any mission you fail, which means that you will have to do an awful lot of driving in this game. Driving and racing is part of the fun, but the fun diminishes after a few hours and you will be left with TOTAL BOREDOM!
I really love the GTA concept and this time the radio shows are the best ever. If it werenât for the great variety of radio stations and the rich content, the driving would be unbearable and I would have thrown the game including the stinking console through the closed window halfway through the game.
GTA4 gives you the most amazing graphical environment I have seen so far. I would really like to know how they do this. The city looks so real, so alive, sometimes I thought I could smell the hot dogs. I wonder how many hours it has taken to do all the drawing for this game. It got to be man-centuries rather then man-hours! The repetitions in the buildings are hardly noticeable. Only the NPCs are limited and you might wonder why there is the same guy in every taxi cab in the city, even if you just pulled him out of one and knifed him. But thatâs fine. After a while you wonât care about the taxi driver anymore, except when he hits your fine luxury cars in the dedicated parking space in front of one of your houses, which, in my book, asks for some action!.
The sum of voice acting talent in this game got to be the best ever! Even the people on the streets, little phrases here and there, are very realistic and are coming with very little repetitions.
The people on the radio are shockingly new and fresh and itâs worth buying the game just to listen to WKTT, Integrity or PLR. I couldnât believe that Karl Lagerfeld, the famous fashion designer, works as DJ on K109. He is a very popular talk show guest because of what he has to say and the way he says it. Nevertheless, his comments on K109 are amazingly unremarkable to say the least. He still has some humorous value because of his gruesome German accent.
There are many aspects that make GTA4 a great game, but the one that had me endure all those many boring LOADINGS and replays is the generous amount of humor in this game. Actually, I think GTA4 is probably the ONLY seriously humorous game on the market today. Not only the radio shows, but also the cut scenes and even the dialogues are something to look forward to. For the humor alone, I would give the game a 10 out of 5!
The axis of the story line is Nick Bellic and his hunger for revenge. I liked the character initially, but I found it very hard to identify with his motives, because he doesnât seem to have any. He (and me and you with him) acts like a mindless killer robot without any values, any goal and any reason. The game doesnât really give you any choices either. You have to kill hundreds of people just because. That is something I really donât understand: if you pay millions for graphic talent, voice talent, comedy talents, why canât you find a decent story writer?
GTA4 is (again) a linear shooter. Although there seem to be plenty of choices, you donât get any. Yes, you can kill some innocent people and get away with it. Yes, you can drive like a maniac and police doesnât take notice. Unfortunately, there is no way to even marginally feel like a decent guy. You are an utterly worthless murderer and you have to work for the worst people. You are scum. Even Ch@ney and Bvsh almost seem like honest people next to Nico!
Fortunately, we donât have to care

A very nice thought out game. The stories and missions are very updated on the technology. I would give this game 5/5 but not to recomend to children.
