I have wanted a video camera for a long time, so when I procured a good amount of graduation money, I decided to save it, and while looking around for the right camera, I found this one and had to have it, so after failing to recieve financing I decided to use all of my money to buy one. This is a great camera, fun to play around with, a lot of awesome features, and an all out great buy. I would recomend this camera to every body, and if not this particular camera, I tell them to at least keep Sony Handycam on their short list. NOW I DEMAND YOU, BUY THIS AWESOME CAMERA! Ha ha, just kidding!
Pros: Features, zoom, Memory Stick Duo slot, Supernightshot Plus
Cons: Battery life could be longer

My friend has the hc21 model and I liked it so well that I thought I would buy the next upgrade up since many features are the same. First of all the docking system is a pain,I'd rather connect directly to camera than have the extra stuff to carry around. When transferring video to computer you have to go through a ton of prompts through the menu on your touch screen. It was complicated to me. The hc21 you connect the USB cord directly to camera and it automatically downloads to computer with one or two prompts only (on computer, not camcorder).

Now, my touch screen is faulty (I've had mine a little over a year). Because you navigate almost EVERYTHING through the touch screen, I can't rewind (other than using remote). and I cannot download anything. The only thing I can do is record and then I have to borrow my friends sony camcorder to do any editing/downloading. Sony only has a 90 day labor warranty and one year for parts. I have hardly used mine and now look at $229 for repairing it. Look around, the more options, the more things to go wrong and then the whole thing is useless.
Pros: lots of options, can take still shots
Cons: most navigating is through touch screen

Camera worked great, but if you lose your drivers or upgrade to Vista the camera can not connect to your PC. Sony does not provide the drivers, you have to rebuy them. I believe Vista only works with thier proprietary iLink, which again is a fee vs. USB.
Pros: Great camera
Cons: Don't lose your drivers or it's worthless
