Have that TV over month and just love it.
So far no complaint. Bought this TV because love picture quality,
do not see banding.
Probably best LCD HDTV on market for that price.
If buy this TV directly from Sharpyou will get 3 years warranty for no extra cost (when I bought my from Best Buy I did't know about that).
Over all happy owner.

Do not buy this SHARP TV (or other Sharp TVs) for the following reason:
The quality of the parts used and/or craftsmanship of the TV is not good. After a year or so every time I turn on the TV the screen stays black. I have to cut the TV on/off many times for it to finally return a picture. Sometimes I have to totally unplug it before a picture is returned. If you research this issue on google it seems to happen a lot. I contacted customer service who informed me since my one year warranty is up they can do nothing for me even though it seems to be a widespread manufacturing issue.

The look of the set and thinness is just gorgeous. When I first got the set I wasn't happy with the out of the box settings. I contacted Sharp Service, who were unbelievably helpful and friendly. I have read a lot of comments on forums from others who couldn't believe how helpful they were. I found some calibrations for this set on the AVSforum that made the picture just perfect for me and have been thrilled with this set ever since

Cons: You need to change the calibrations

Have this TV for about 4 months now. No problems, works and looks cool. I have my XBOX 360 hooked up to it with the HD DVD drive, movies looks stunning as do games. Regular TV looks average, but HD TV channels are superb.
Excellent bang for the buck!
Got the extended 3 yr in home warranty and Im done!

Was my delivery of this tv a let down. I get it all hooked up, and whether I had the regular tv, or any of my game systems hooked in, all I got was a great picture with NO audio.
Went through the directions multiple times. Called and got the tech on the phone who basically walked me through everything I had repeated for about 2 hours before I spoke with him.
So Sharp is sending out a technician, and I hope it's soon.
It's a bummer when you pay so much expecting something new to work, and especially at the holiday season to play the newest games and game system, and you end up having to wait another week or two just to find out what the problem is, and if it will be fixed or the whole tv will be replaced.

I bought this tv Sept 29, 2007 and channels 31, 35 and 36 have no audio. The cable company has been out 3 times with different tv's as well as digital tvs and theirs each had sound. I exchanged the original tv for a new same model and it is doing the same.

Pros: everything is great except a few channels do not have sound
